Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The student-athletes on my team are all around great students and athletes. They come from a wide range of backgrounds but all come together for one reason the love of the sport. They have dedication and heart which is what makes them so wonderful. The team has been rebuilding over the past two years since I became their coach.

The challenges the team has faced are difficult from enduring two seasons without a win to working, practicing, and completing their studies all during the season.

It has not been an easy road. Before I was their coach they had to endure a season of zero wins which can be tough on anyone especially a teenager. The players have stuck with each other and now myself as their coach. This season our record was 6/9/3. This may not seem like a big accomplishment for some, but for us it was hope.

We have learned that through hard work and dedication goals can be accomplished. We are hoping for this upcoming season to work together as a team and reach our team goals!

My Project

My school is located in an economically disadvantaged area. The students are unable to always have the items that are needed in order for them to succeed on the field. They are also unable to purchase some of these items every year, therefore, these donations will enable them to be game ready for the upcoming season.

Due to the economic challenges players on my team face, they are unable to obtain the items that are necessary to complete the uniform such as socks and bags.

The carry bags will keep the team looking uniform when traveling to our games throughout the soccer season.
