I teach amazing third graders in a Title I school in a low-income neighborhood where their first language is not English. Most of the children live with their grandparents who can’t help them because they are not English speaking.
My Project
Children need some time during the week to express themselves in different ways through their own choice. The materials that I’ve asked for will help them to do just that while still learning. They will be able to choose math games to reinforce their learning. They will also be able to choose blank books to inspire them to create stories and painting pens to illustrate those stories.
Choice time is usually a time when children interact with one another, but because of social distancing choice time will have to be different.
These materials will allow the children to still have fun and choose what they’d like to do while working independently.
I would appreciate it if you would consider funding my project so that my children can still enjoy choice time, in this crazy unpredictable time.
