My Project
My students love reading and listening to books. Books are able to be used to open dialogue on some very challenging SEL topics. Elephant and Piggie books are able to do this while using humor. Our class would use these books to help talk about topics like friendship, problem solving, including others, accepting differences in others, sharing, being generous, empathy and so much more.
Allowing students to have conversations around SEL topics will allow them to grow socially and emotionally.
This is one of my goals for all my students each year, that they grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
