Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am currently teaching different grade groups from prekindergarten to 8th grade students. The school features a number of different specialized educational programs to serve the academic, linguistic and emotional needs of this very diversified student body. Since I am the social studies teacher, the curriculum for social studies is wide. For kindergarten is about the community, the first grade is about families now and long ago, the 2nd grade is about geography and where people live. For third grade the focus is why does geography matter, for fourth grade the focus is about New York State and local history. Therefore my students would benefit greatly because the social studies engages students and build their content knowledge and this technology would benefit their ability to connect to their communities and the world. I would use this technology to foster and inspire and engage my students to apply their learning.
