My Students

My students are eager to get their hands-on social studies games and resources. Two to three times per week I set aside time for social studies read alouds and/or social studies centers. What's better than teaching my students the interesting facts they need to know about the world in which they live?

My students are a wonderful, diverse group of 4th graders in Brooklyn, New York.

We are a general education 4th grade classroom full of English Language Learners and former English Language Learners. All of my students are bright, committed to their own education, and brimming with potential.

My Project

These social studies games and resources will be used by the students in centers around the classroom. Two to three times a week we have social studies centers where students rotate in small groups to explore topics such as Early Explorers, Native Americans, Colonial Times, and the American Revolution.

Your donations will help improve my classroom in numerous ways.

The social studies games and resources will be used to prepare students for upcoming social studies units by activating and building prior knowledge about grade concepts. This will help prepare students for their state tests at the end of the year while building their love of social studies and the world in which we live.
