My Project
Our sixth grade students have a lot of energy, creativity, and intelligence, but they also need a lot of support to develop more appropriate and consistent social skills for academic settings. The return to in-person learning after COVID and distance learning has been a real social challenge for many students.
Students lost out on the normal interactions of school life and seem to have "forgotten" many of the proper ways to speak, act, and treat one another.
We, as the 6th grade team, have tried many different lessons and activities to help them grow and develop more social maturity and empathy, but it simply has not been enough.
Please help us get these read-aloud books and student workbooks to continue the teaching and learning of authentic, read-world interpersonal skills with the 6th grade classes, helping to set them up for more success in the next grade-level.
