My Students

My students from San Francisco are in a close knit community who want to do as best as they can given the circumstances we're in. They are hard working, creative and curious! My students come from various backgrounds/cultures/income levels, however, they show their true identities when in their comfort zones at school.

My students love being at school learning, reading, socializing and engaging with others.

They thrive and develop their skills when they have the supplies and materials they need, along with encouragement and positive social interactions.

My Project

My students love read alouds of all types. Read aloud is scheduled every day in my class as a way for exposure to new topics, encouraging the love of reading, and teaching new subjects. Exposing my students to social justice read alouds will not only open up necessary conversations but also show them the importance of being inclusive and kind to everyone. With a growing classroom library, the best way to keep track of my titles is to use color-coded book bins for easy access and organization. Having these book bins will help with organizing my books during distance learning and when we can go back to our classrooms for in-person teaching. Kids will easily find the titles they want by reading the clear labels attached to each bin.

The use of whiteboards is used every single day in my classroom.

Using whiteboards will enable me to illustrate and explain lessons during at-home learning. Visual learning students need to see my notes and explanations as I will be showing them throughout our lessons every day.
