Social Emotionally STRONG 2nd Graders!

My Students

Our Charter School in Ivins, UT is a title one school. My amazing second graders come from various backgrounds and ethnicities. Our charter school gives my students opportunities to start exploring instruments, theatre, art, dance, robotics and coding at very young ages. I love seeing different talents emerge and the confidence, focus and identity it gives to these children. My students never cease to amaze me with their many talents they bring into my language arts classroom!

My Project

Many of my second graders have never experienced a full, non- disrupted year of school due to COVID. We are seeing the effects this has had on their social and emotional behavior. Despite bringing in more counselors, our school has never had the current amount of behavior problems we have experienced this year.

With your help, I would love to increase the resources available in my own classroom to help students learn to regulate their emotions.

By doing so, I hope to reduce the strain on our already maxed out counselors and administration.
