My Students

The population of the students at the school is ethnically and culturally diverse. A majority of the students are from low income families. Most of the students have been working remotely since March 2020. Transitioning back to school has been challenging for many of them.

My Project

Students of all ages are struggling with separation anxiety and other mental health issues. These items will help me to provide social emotional support to students in Pre-K through 8th grade. By improving mental health students are able to better focus on academics. There are students that have been affected by domestic violence, death of one or more family members, food insecurity and change in family composition. The students experience a range of emotions in a short period of time and need assistance in learning how to regulate their emotions. These items will me to provide much of the support they deserve.
