Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students who live in impoverished areas often face a multitude of challenges that can significantly impact their emotional and social well-being. The stresses of financial instability, limited access to resources, and exposure to community violence can create an environment where anxiety, depression, and feelings of hopelessness thrive. By addressing their emotional needs, we not only enhance their personal growth but also lay the foundation for a brighter future, fostering a sense of belonging and purpose that is often missing in their lives. This is why I feel it is so important to create a calm corner where they can go to and use calming toys, work on puzzles to distract them from daily issues, use the various art items to create and express their emotions. Providing students with emotional support items such as stuffies to hug and stress balls to relieve anxiety will also assist in lowering their anxiety and bring them some comfort.
