My Project

My kindergarteners are in need of some tools to help them learn to manage their emotions in the classroom. Calm-down items can be used to help students learn to calm down on their own. Journaling can teach students a replacement behavior to help them get through emotions. Incentives such as prizes will encourage students to make good choices and motivate them to work hard at having self-control.

My goal for this project is to help my students navigate challenging emotions more independently.

I want them to have access to tools that can help them that they can freely use.

My students are special because they are caring and compassionate toward others. Although they have big emotions, they are all willing to help each other out and pick each other up when they are struggling. They are great kids, and many are navigating their first year of full-day school.
