Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My little first graders have experienced some big feelings this school year. They carry a lot of weight from their lives for people so small. Despite these challenges, my students are eager to learn and excited to come to school each day.

Our classroom is a safe space for our students to express themselves.

However, there is huge need for appropriate coping skills and self-regulation to keep ourselves and each other safe. We need practice on how to express how we are feeling in safe ways and how we interact with others appropriately.

Social Emotional Learning is extremely important especially in younger students! Picture books about our emotions, how we can understand and manage them, as well as conflict resolution are just the right tools to introduce new strategies to my students. Help us set our firsties up with success for the future!
