Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing students with the power to name their feelings as well as the tools needed for self-regulation is priceless. The skills and strategies that my students will gain from these tools and books will help them throughout their lives. The stress and fidget tubes will provide students that need sensory input a quiet way to meet their needs that will not interrupt the learning of their peers. The books about self-regulation and emotions will help children see themselves in the literature that they are being read. This will help them identify with the characters emotions and learn self-regulating skills.

Social Emotional Learning helps students improve their self-awareness, academic achievement and relationships with others.

Research has shown that students who participate in SEL show improved behavior, are better able to manage their stress and have better academic performance.

The tools that this project requests will help the youngest learners in my building learn about SEL.
