My Project

As the REACH academy transitions to being a school solely focused on serving adolescents with Autism and behavioral needs, social-emotional learning is incorporated in the educational experience daily.

Our students benefit from periodic breaks to refocus brain activity, better retain academic information, and successfully regulate emotions.

A "calm-down corner" that is fully visible in the classroom, but set aside for a sense of quiet and safety has begun being built. Staff has observed, noted, and is compelled to implement students' preferences. I am compelled to put their feedback in action.

I am asking for donations to enhance the level of comfort in the classroom. Your kindness would provide furnishings and interactive elements, as well as soothing sensory items to promote mindfulness and reflection. Additionally, these items teach REACH's specialized population how to appropriately socialize, communicate their needs, and understand positive outlets for negative emotions.
