My Students

Our classroom consists of 23 boys and girls who are eager, energetic, and excited to learn! My students come from various ethnic backgrounds. They come into the classroom every morning with smiles on their faces and are a huge reminder to me of why I do what I do! They have a wide array of learning styles that I explore.

They continue to surprise and challenge me every day.

I am an enthusiastic, nurturing, devoted, and creative teacher who enjoys working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through education.

My Project

My students would greatly benefit from having journal notebooks and LCD writing tablets that they can use daily to write and draw about their feelings. They will also use the art supplies for crafts that express their feelings and emotions. The bins will help to store and organize these materials.

The concept of social emotional learning in a classroom is key to emotional success during the academic career of my students.

Through learning about social and emotional skills, my students will become more resilient as they learn how to deal with the effects of trauma or adverse events that are happening in their lives. This project is to supply students with individual resources for journaling to promote social and emotional learning. This project will provide the foundation for safe and positive learning experiences that will enhance students' ability to succeed in and out of the classroom setting.

The tools in this project will allow me to provide a safe and healthy environment while allowing students to learn positive social emotional skills through the use of rich reflective journaling.
