Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from varied backgrounds and cultures. Many are English language learners, many have individualized learning plans and some are just your run-of-the-mill middle school adolescents trying to navigate this stressful situation while living in small apartments with extended family members. Many have sick family members and some unfortunately have lost loved ones to this terrible virus. Many of my kids are terrified as they watch their family members go off to work every day because they are essential workers and everyday heroes and pray they don’t get sick.
My Project
Please help me obtain my certification in Social Emotional Learning-Mind Body Wellness so that I can provide my students with these essentials life skills to help them now and in their future. This is the foundational course which focuses on mindfulness, mindset, and SEL.
When I graduate, I will be prepared to facilitate my students' growth mindset, SEL, and movement practices to enhance my students well-being, their family members and my entire school community as well.
Once I have my certification, I believe I will able to educate them on the importance of our emotional well-being and how it helps us to learn and succeed.
