Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at the Urban Assembly School for Collaborative Healthcare in Cypress Hills, Brooklyn are committed to becoming future nurses and doctors of the world. Research shows that patients of color have more effective care when treated by nurses and doctors of color. Let's get more nurses and doctors of color into the medical field!

My Project

2019-2020 was the hardest school year for most students and teachers. As we return for 2020-2021, we want to engage our students right away while also offering them opportunities to participate in Social Emotional learning activities.

The items included in this project will help fund various clubs to engage students such as a sip and paint, gardening club, hair and make-up club and a boxing club.

These items will be used on a weekly basis during our Social Emotional Learning day clubs.

It is most important that in 2020-2021, we encourage students to return to school and reconnect with their teachers and friends! Thank you!
