This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school district is currently 100% free and reduced-price lunch, and the majority of students are English Language Learners. This means that our students do not always have the same advantages as their peers in many other school districts, and they are learning a new language while trying to master state wide curriculum.
My students are extremely eager learners.
We work very hard to provide them with as many opportunities as possible. They enjoy working hard and trying new and innovated activities. They are motivated to learn everything they can.
My Project
These books discuss topics such as emotional behavior, classmate interactions, understanding big changes, and how to deal with hard times at home and in school. We will use these books throughout the school year to support students needs and Social Emotional Curriculum.
Students connect with books when they encounter similar situations in their personal lives.
Books are a safe way for students to discuss tough topics. It gives them a connection to their personal lives and opens a conversation about how they can deal with these situations at school and at home.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
