Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school has 390 students in attendance that bring their personal best every day. Our students are creative learners and hard-working towards their goals. Our school integrates prompts of depth and complexity within the Common Core Standards to nurture student interests, develop advanced critical thinking, and cultivate problem-solving skills. Our students excel in the arts and thrive with the support of music, theater, visual arts, and dance specialists at our school. The STEAM Lab has fostered our students’ interests in project-based learning and has provided an enriching hands-on experience. Additionally, our multimedia lab empowers scholars to integrate technology across the curriculum and increase the mindset of global awareness that is part of Global Digital Citizenship.

We strive to cultivate knowledgeable, respectful and caring individuals with a strong work ethic and the 21st-century skills necessary to become positive, contributing members of society.

The instructional design addresses key elements such as research-based pedagogy, integrated content, inquiry-based learning, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and assessment.

My Project

The materials that I chose for this project would provide my students with a daily journal for a growth mindset. These journals would be an excellent activity for students to do at home each day we are on distance learning. The journal has a variety of prompts for the students to reflect upon and give them a chance to write down their thoughts. I also chose a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to help provide more activities that are created by other teachers. I can use this gift card for even more resources to provide my students with more learning at home!
