This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Participating in a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and Yoga Teacher Training will enhance both my professional growth and my ability to support my students holistically.

This training will equip me with strategies to foster emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-awareness—skills that are essential for student success both inside and outside the classroom.

By deepening my understanding of SEL, I will be better prepared to help students manage stress, build positive relationships, and develop self-regulation skills, ultimately creating a more supportive and inclusive learning environment. Integrating yoga into my teaching practice will provide students with tools to improve focus, reduce anxiety, and enhance their overall well-being. Through breathwork, mindfulness, and movement, I can offer strategies that help students navigate challenges with greater ease. Additionally, incorporating yoga principles will support a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that all students feel safe and empowered in their learning journey.

Professionally, this training will allow me to lead with greater empathy and confidence while strengthening my classroom management and student engagement skills. It will also open doors for interdisciplinary approaches to education, combining physical and mental wellness with academic growth. Ultimately, this training will not only benefit me as an educator, but, also positively impact the lives of my students.
