Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Pre- K is the first time students are able the school life!

Almost all of my students come from low income or a single-parent household, where the families struggle financially to even put food on the table.

I have an Explore classroom that has a mix of general education and special education students. The sweetest thing is to see each other help one another throughout the day! Giving the students the opportunity to learn how to manage their emotions with different materials.

My Project

With the pandemic of Covid-19, students have not been able to return to the classroom since school is virtual at the moment.

These materials can help students express their emotions verbally or non-verbal by showing us an emotion on the bear or the mirrors of emotion.

Whether we are at school or at home, I still think it is important to teach my students how to express their emotions in different ways. Emotions can be confusing for kids at such a young age and I want to help them understand that it is okay to be feeling a certain way. I want to teach them how to deal with their emotions at home. Then when we do return to school, they will have an understanding on how to apply it in the classroom.
