Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged during our on line lessons. Despite the fact that they've been learning remotely since March 2020, they are eager to attend class. Distance learning has been a challenge for many reasons. Unfortunately many families are experiencing unemployment, evictions, COVID-19 and loss of loved ones. Many of my students live in small apartments or homes where they live with several families due to the high cost of living.

My Project

I will use these books , art journals, gratitude journals and activity books to help my students with social emotional learning.

I teach my students to use meditation on a daily basis to start off our day of learning on line.

These materials will be helpful in teaching my students resiliency skills.

All these book titles will develop my students' social skills as well as their emotional coping skills. This is so important during these difficult times when they are experiencing stress, anxiety, loss and fear. My students enjoy drawing daily and talking about their emotions in our class community, their safe space.
