My Students

My Pre-K students are inquisitive individuals that work, play and create wonderfully together within a multicultural diverse class.

My students have learned how to share, cooperate, and respect each other not only at school but the parents confirm that it's happening at home as well.

Some of their favorite activities are center time and outdoor play.

Although, they especially enjoy music and movement with instruments. This is where they express themselves without inhibition, knowing it's a safe place. Our school environment and community provides that.

My Project

My pre-K students are learning and working on social emotional growth. Pre-K is important for children’s social and emotional development. In classrooms and other school settings, children need to have skills such as managing negative emotions, being calm and focused, following directions, and navigating relationships with peers and adults. Having Center time activities that can engage all of our pre-K students including students with special needs is essential for social emotional growth. From my daily lessons, pre-K students will learn about self-awareness, social awareness, and will have the opportunity to engage with others throughout the day while reinforcing social emotional growth.
