Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These are unprecedented times. Never did I imagine that when my students and I said goodbye in March it would mean that it was our last day in the classroom. However, the year is not over yet!

My students and I have embarked on a distance learning journey!

We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate in google meets daily to to check in with each other. I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.

My Project

Many of my students are struggling to process all these recent changes. I find that tapping into their special interest motivates them to engage in learning.

Social emotional teaching is the key to successful distant learning.

Teaching my students how to manage their feelings and use their words is my priority. Teaching them various techniques to ease their anxiety and cope with the worlds current situation is my goal. Letting them know I am here for them in every way.

In order for me to successfully teach I need to ensure my technology is working properly. It would be easier/neater to write using the apple pencil rather than my finger.
