This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the smartest, most creative transitional kindergarten students on the planet. And I can't wait to meet them! Unfortunately, our first interactions are on a screen. My school is beginning the year with a distance learning model due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

More than half of our student population qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch.

Most families work outside the home as essential workers. They are hardworking people trying their best to provide all their children need to be successful in school. Yet, supporting learning at home can be challenging for working parents. It is a difficult time for our families. Extra money to purchase educational supplies is not available for many families.

Help me to meet the developmental needs of my students while providing a safe socially distanced learning environment. Recreating hands-on learning experiences while adhering to safety guidelines regarding Covid is challenging. Young children need developmentally appropriate manipulatives and materials to support literacy and the development of mathematical reasoning.

The pandemic has strained school budgets. We, teachers, are struggling to provide for the basic educational needs of our students. Please help.

My Project

Trying to plan, organize and facilitate outdoor play for four and five-year-olds. in a world of covid-19 restrictions has been challenging. Especially at lunch recess when kids are abundant and staff is limited. 5 classes share the same playground and equipment. When students don't have enough to do, unhealthy risks are taken and conflicts are on the rise. We need help!

My students need play equipment to provide options for free choice play outside.

We need outdoor play equipment, balance beams, balls, games, and a safe place to store them for easy access.
