Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a great bunch of first graders. They are smart, inquisitive, affectionate, and busy! I love being their teacher. Most of my teaching experience has been with older students (grades 3-8). I made the switch, 3 years ago, to Early Childhood and I am enjoying every moment of it!

In my class, I promote a community of love, confidence, diversity, our differences and our commonalities.

The most important thing about my students is their happiness, mental, and emotional-social health.

My Project

Funding this project will help purchase social-emotional teacher resources that help tackle the problem of teacher stress, and provides guidance for taking the burnout out of teaching. Stress is part of the job but I do not want to be a stressed-out teacher. This resource is a path to resiliency to help teachers weather the storms and bounce back. There are concrete steps toward rediscovering myself, my energy, and my passion for teaching. I will learn how a simple shift in my mindset can affect my outlook, and how taking care of myself physically, mentally, and emotionally is one of the most important things I can do. The workbook will help me put the steps into action.

In cultivating resilience within myself and my teaching practice, I can improve my health, my outlook, and my relationships while building an environment in which every child succeeds.

These resources will take me on a journey of specific self-discovery that will change my perspective, renew my confidence, and empower me to make the much-needed changes that will allow me to continue to inspire young growing minds. It will not only transform my life, but the relationships I have with my students and the school community.
