My Students
I am the School Social Worker for over four hundred PreK - 5th grade students. The social and emotional needs of my students are extremely important. My students speak multiple languages and have lived in various countries. My students are resilient, resourceful, and ready to learn more!
My Project
As a school social worker, I spend time in my school's classrooms helping students learn about emotional awareness, coping strategies and building empathy amongst peers. We do this through conversations, activities and games!
The social and emotional needs of my students are extremely important and when students feel safe at school, they are more likely to attend and engage in learning.
In addition, this project will assist my fellow teachers and support staff in creating morning meeting lessons so they can continue to support the needs of our students and improve their classroom culture.
