Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My soccer team is part of a nonprofit organization that provides my students with completely free soccer. Players receive a jersey, shorts, and shinguards and receive funding for buses, referees, and games. It is an outstanding program. Occasionally, we get cleats donated, but we did not get any this year. My middle schoolers are growing fast and many cannot afford cleats. While they are not required to play in cleats, I like to make sure they are properly outfitted for the game.

Additionally, we practice twice and one game per week, yet the organization only provides one pair of soccer socks per player.

They need more to be prepared for practice. I would like to get them each a drawstring back to carry their equipment back and forth to school. Lastly, we need a good floor pump for inflating balls easily.
