This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Taking a mental break from school to go out and play the students’ favorite sport will help improve their academics. My ELL and non-ELL students will have a time to gather their thoughts through soccer and get a mental health break, this will allow my students to re-focus and understand how to play in a team. Many of my students are ELL students, meaning they are students that have come from other countries and are learning English for the first time. Students will have a mental health break through soccer. This will allow them to speak with their fellow peers regarding their day, challenges, goals, successes, etc. Through this project you will help me score a goal for these students! Not only in soccer but in the classroom.

The portable goals will be used to have soccer time during class break and after school.

The soccer balls will be used to practice and give students the equipment necessary to play a small soccer scrimmage and have a mental health break from school and other challenges in their daily life. The utility soccer cart will be used to carry the portable soccer goals to the field as long with the soccer balls. The main goal of this project is for students to find an activity (soccer) that they enjoy in order to re-organize their day in school and out of school. Allowing students to have a mental break through sports is something that is valuable to their academic and personal growth.

This project will be unique for students to have their own group sport activity. Help me get the mental health break these students need on a daily basis through a soccer goal!
