This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many upper grade students struggle with the skills and strategies needed in reading and seek encouragement and motivation to persevere in the pursuit of reaching grade level proficiency. This charging station and the incentives will help students have devices ready for virtual after-school tutoring in reading.

Many of our parents work two jobs to keep afloat and rely on after-school tutoring to fill in the gaps in their child’s learning.

Students will continue to flourish in reading by participating in various forms of help that will keep them engaged and interested in the wonders of reading. Virtual tutoring is one such form of help. In-person tutoring is another form of help students will participate in. This charging station will keep devices ready to use for the purpose of assessments and special lessons that will help students make progress.
