Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This school year, I have a total of nineteen, gifted students. I have six that will remain virtual and thirteen that will be attending school as of October 7, 2020. They are eager to learn and share their ideas with each other. I used the theme of reaching for the stars in my classroom. I have quotes around the class that tell my students the harder you work, the smarter you get.

The majority of my students come from other countries, such as Cuba, Niagara, and Honduras.

Many don’t have the funds to own their own computers at home. I make sure they are exposed to as much technology as possible, and want them to gain as much enrichment as possible during their school year.

My Project

From a cool toy to a powerful, versatile learning tool, iPads have made their way into the classroom and have become very valuable classroom technology. I plan to use the iPad to make myself mobile and accessible to all the students while maintaining social distancing.

Even for schools where there is not a mobile device for every student, they can still take advantage of the iPad as valuable technology in the classroom.

They can utilize it for group work and engage in collaborating lessons.

Students can work together on a project or presentation on the iPad and enjoy educational games together as well.
