My Students

Every morning we soar to have a wonderful day within 2nd grade by having a wonderful statement posted on the board that will motivate us! I announce are we ready to soar!!!!

My school is a Title , Pre-K-8 school located in Boro Park Brooklyn, New York.

The school has a large diverse population of many ethnicity's. English Language Learners and students with disabilities. All the students within my class rely on the tools and fundamentals that I teach them because unfortunately at home them have none. With the use of books, cds and tablets the students will be able to gain more knowledge with many different visuals and hands on manipulative's to teach the ESL and students with disabilities. It is always better to gain their attention with something other than just a book. Sometimes a visual , a game or books capture their attention better than basic reading out of a book. I have noticed that when working with this group lots of technology and cds help the students learn the language and start to read and gain fluency faster.

My Project

They lack knowledge in many areas especially in language and reading . So I want to have all the resources : books, cds and tablets to help teach them the language and help them to learn how to read. I want a wide variety of reading materials and visuals to brighten their minds through technology and reading . The ESL students love to view and listen to programs to learn how to talk. The students with disabilities also love to learn through and educational games that help them gain confidence to read a book after the read the words on the screen.

I will have many hands on visuals to teach the ESL children during reading and every subject area.

Also all the books will help broaden the students knowledge, gain fluency and comprehension and become better readers.The tablets will allow me to constantly be able to show them many visuals in a quick instance Overall I want the students to gain a sense of love for reading through technology, visuals and basic books.
