Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are coming from low-income housing in a Title I school. My kindergarten students (virtually and in-person )are entering kindergarten and have various disabilities. They are underprivileged scholars who need some basic supplies to start off the school year at home and or in school with success. Let's ignite their love for learning.

My Project

For some of our students this is their first experience being in school. They are learning their letters and sounds. They are starting to gain more sight word knowledge and putting sounds together to form words. Now, we need help with our library. Our library is very limited and out dated. With these book our scholars will have fresh new books to hold in their hand with topics that are fun and engaging.

Help us soar into reading with some emergent readers, sight word books, and beginning guided reading books.

Due to the current pandemic, most of the books we have we can't use. They can't actively shop for books as needed. When scholars are just learning how to read, they need a diverse amount of options to keep them engaged. Kindergarten focuses on buddy reading and without multiple sets of books they are unable to.
