My Students

Isn't it nice to have a clean bright space to work and think, and all of the supplies you need are readily accessible? My students could really use some materials to make our classroom more conducive to successful learning!

My class is made up of a terrific group of kids in New York City.

Last October, their home and school lives were devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The supplies we had in storage were destroyed by the terrible storm surge. Even with all of these trials and hardships, my students are on their way to becoming terrific independent thinkers and learners. We would love to have a fresh start to this new school year with new supplies and storage for our classroom!

My Project

We are requesting everyday classroom supplies, such as storage containers, bulletin board paper, a stapler, laminating pouches and a calendar set. Having new bulletin board paper will brighten up and enliven our classroom. The kids will work hard to see their authentic work on the bulletin boards. The children are constantly manipulating and using materials that can quickly wrinkle and rip. With the laminating sheets we requested, we can safeguard many of our math and reading materials. A new calendar set is essential to organizing and understanding our time and deadlines. The calendar set we have is missing many pieces and is very old. The carry-all tote would be a great help when we travel to different classes in the building. We can use it for carrying the recorders and sheet music to music class, and for storing our materials during lunch time. We will even use it to transport our lunches on class trips.

It is so important for these kids to start fresh this year and put the affects of the Hurricane behind them.

The materials we are requesting will immediately be put into the children's hands. These materials will positively affect our classroom and rate of learning. With your help, we will be on our way to making this year the best ever!
