Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged during our online and in person lessons. Due to the fact that they've been learning remotely during the pandemic, they have fallen behind academically and socially.

Unfortunately many families are experiencing unemployment, evictions, COVID-19, and loss of loved ones.

Many students of our community live in small apartments or homes where they live with several families due to the high cost of living. Some families can't afford to buy basic school supplies, clothing, shoes or food.

My Project

Our first grader have finally started school in person! This group of active and enthusiastic students has not been to school since the end Pre-k. For some students this is their first school experience. They desperately need age appropriate hands on counters to practice counting and sorting collections during their Cognitively Guided Instruction in math They will be so excited to practice sorting with a variety of counters. It will be so fun to learn math skill that surely they'll forget that they are learning as they become awesome mathematicians.
