Hygiene and cleanliness are sensitive topics for anyone, middle school is no exception. Feeling clean and having access to hygienic supplies is a basic right that many of us take for granted, but for a child struggling with the daily task of self-care, the consequences can be significant.
Materials requested in this project will go into making kits for students to support their self-care routines and hygiene needs.
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shower supplies will be packaged for students to take home. As part of sharing these supplies with students, the counselors will also help students in forming healthy habits and routines around good hygiene. While these are sensitive topics for students to discuss, it will allow us not only to support their functional needs but also to address any other concerns a student may be experiencing. These materials will allow us to open the door to better assisting our students, with real solutions and tools.
