Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At my school, we are currently facing a situation that has made clean-up impossible. Thus, I have decided to take care of my classroom. Since the state has taken over our district, many custodial staff members have been laid off, leading to many rooms not being cleaned regularly. Therefore, because of this setback, bugs and smells have entered my room.

Because of this situation, I am asking for help getting cleaning supplies, such as a push broom, so that I can keep unnecessary debris out of my classroom and students can learn without having to walk over everything.

A Swiffer mop will also allow the classroom to be free from bacteria and other liquids that students can slip on. I have over 180 students who play instruments in the band program. Over half of the students never chose the class. But because of the takeover, we lost two teachers. It would be unfair to welcome those students into a classroom that students are not welcome.
