My Students

Help. My rug is older than my students. It is worn and dated. A kindergarten learning environment should be clean and inviting. Our current rug is not.

I work with a wonderful group of kindergarten students.

They are enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn. They live in a diverse urban area and come to school with a variety of experiences, needs and abilities. I would like to ensure that every student feels safe and comfortable in his/her new learning environment.

My Project

Calm, comfortable, clean, and cozy are all benefits my students will have from this particular carpet. Rows and columns of squares and colors create easy grouping of students, and also support rules and procedures. Students gain a sense of belonging and security, which in turn fosters a safe and comfortable learning environment. Every day on the carpet we learn about the calendar, reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary, writing, math, science, social studies, and art. Students spend a majority of their learning and exploring time on the carpet. Therefore a clean and comfortable carpet is a classroom necessity.

Where better can a five year old build, plan, create, explore, read, imagine, share, perform, and co-operate while learning than on a brand new, organized, attractive rug.
