This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello! I am a first grade teacher and this is my second year teaching. I was fortunate to receive some hand-me-downs for my first year teaching, but I am now in need of some new items.

We are in need of a new rug!

I have a hand-me-down rug that we use for story time as well as calendar/math time. The students LOVE learning on the rug, however it is too small. I would love to be able to give my students more space to learn on a new, cozy rug.

We are also in need of classroom speakers! I was given a pair of hand-me-down speakers last year, but they are old and just did not hold up. My laptop speakers are just not loud enough when I play educational videos. There are so many videos out there that assist me in teaching, and I would love for my students to be able to hear them.

One last thing. Laminating sheets! A laminator is a teacher's best friend. Luckily, I have a new thermal laminator and it works beautifully. I just don't have enough laminating sheets to provide resources to all of my students. There are lots of literacy and math resources out there that I'd love to provide my students with, but I do need laminating sheets so I can reuse these resources each year. I am all about the three R's!
