My Project

In this project, students will get the chance to explore and create how early artists of cathedrals were able to capture light in their stained glass windows. Students need access to more glass cutting tools/supplies so they don't have to wait for their peers.

These items will help students will gain/refine their glass cutting skills, perfect their soldering skills and creative design skills.

Project inspiration could include looking at Louis Comfort Tiffany, Frank Lloyd Wright, Dale Chihuly and more. With the grant, students would have the flexibility to choose they style and the purpose of the artwork. Requirements would include: research, practice planning and combining a minimum of 5 custom cut pieces of glass.

Their imaginations will be endless with fresh options - their design dreams can become real. Students fall in love with the stained glass technique, process and transparency of all things glass. It seems so out of reach, but with your help.. it could be in their hands.
