Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

All students now attend school all day. Elementary level students face the challenge of staying engaged and on-task during a long, full school day. It is very difficult to stay focused on learning when you have an empty stomach, especially when sitting in front of a classroom for hours and eat a late lunch. Many of my students are Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, plus English Language Learners who live in a low income area of the Bronx NY. To ask their families to send snacks daily is a burden I cannot put on them.
