This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school consists of families that rely on free school breakfast and lunch. I have seen first hand the difference it makes when a child is focused and ready to learn, with a full tummy and when they are tired, upset and unmotivated all because they missed breakfast or didn't have enough to eat. The majority of my students are immigrant students who a living in temporary housing. They do not have a kitchen to cook healthy meals or a refrigerator to keep food.

That is why I would like to provide my students with snacks for when they are hungry; with your help I'll be able to stock my class pantry with snacks that will keep them full and ready to learn.

With your help, I will be able to offer my students yummy Nutri grain bars for when they need something in the morning. The other snacks like cookies, pretzels and fruit snacks are to help motivate students and give them something for when they accomplish a goal.

I believe that kids should be able to eat snacks they like, but in a moderate amount. That is why these snack sizes are the perfect option.
