Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students from my school live in one of the poorest districts in the country, the Bronx, NY. Many of our students view coming to this public school as a way to escape their day-to-day struggles. We try our best to provide students with access to diverse, fun learning programs, but with major budget cuts, we can not afford certain supplies to keep us going. It has become increasingly difficult to offer character-building education services to our large population of students. The guidance team is working on our college and career planning atmosphere for the students. We want to inspire them to start planning for their future.

My Project

We offer a space for the students to plan out their post secondary plans. They come during lunch and after school to fill our their college applications, update resumes, job applications and so much more. While they are working we offer them snacks and waters.

These moments are priceless.

it gives them the support they need to plan for their future. We provide high school support and beyond. I added easy snacks, treats and items I know they would like. It is in these moments they come together and grow. It is in these moments we get to see them shine while planning for their future.
