My Project

It is important to teach financial literacy at a young age so that my students are equipped for their futures with the right knowledge and tools. We teach the basics of financial literacy, including counting money, skip-counting, 1 to 1 correspondence, place value, comparing quantities, writing numbers, adding and subtracting, and multi-step problems.

To begin the journey of financial literacy, I need rewards for my students to purchase from our class "Student Store" with their earned "Rugg Bucks." My students will purchase small, fun size candy so that they can utilize their financial skills to go shopping for such high interest items.

Students can use their financial literacy skills and knowledge to make big and small purchases. Students will also model their understanding of basic math and money skills and knowledge.

I hope to instill the importance of financial responsibility at a young age in order to prepare our future generation for our growing economy. These items are going to provide them opportunities to engage in learning while they spend and learn valuable financial literacy lessons.
