This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I serve as a special education teacher and I travel to different classes. Many of the students I service often have a hard time focusing due to hunger. My students live in a community which can experience high levels of food insecurity. My school is in the middle of a food desert and my students seldom have access to healthy food options they can afford. Proving my students with a few snacks at school can help them have a better chance at success in class.
