This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My third grade students often come into school hungry. Most days they are given a small breakfast, but kids often do not eat them. Since we have a very late lunch, we offer snack time mid-morning. Unfortunately, many of our students are not able to bring a small snack from home. I have been buying snacks for the classroom, but it has gotten very expensive.
These snacks will make such a difference in the students’ learning.
Just when the kids start to lose focus, they also tell us they are hungry and ask to get something out of the bin of snacks!
