My Students

My sweet second graders are hard working kids who deserve the best! Our building is made up of PreK through 5th graders in a low income setting. Our kiddos arrive almost exclusively by bus and everyone gets free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

My students come from homes that don't always have enough food. Many of them come to school hungry. This project includes snacks such as goldfish to help my students be able to concentrate on their work and not their grumbly tummies. As an adult, I have trouble working if I feel hungry. I can't expect my 2nd graders to focus like that either. I would like to send some snacks home on the weekends for my students as well. I included bandaids because my school runs out of them often. Kids need bandaids often.
