I work with a bright, high-energy group of students. These kids are from the North Woods and love the outdoors, especially the lakes, rivers, and forests that surround us.
Our district motto is to achieve and my class does that daily through academics, character, and behavior.
My classroom is approximately thirty percent Native American. I am continually impressed at how motivated my students are when it comes to their learning. They are always up for a good challenge and exceed expectations!
My Project
Have you ever tried to concentrate on a task while feeling hunger pangs and hearing your stomach growl? Our rigorous daily routine keeps students working hard at all times, and by mid-afternoon, my students are feeling the need for an energy boost.
Healthy snacks will keep my students focused on learning instead of their rumbling and empty tummies.
I want my students to be able to finish the day strong by enjoying a good Nutri-Grain bar or some popcorn. I believe student achievement and productivity will increase by offering this extra afternoon fuel.
An added benefit is that my kids may be exposed to a healthy snack that they've never tried before! It's a win-win!
