My Project

My students ALWAYS ask me if I have snacks. Since I work in a Title I school, not all my students have the resources that they need to put their best food forward in school.

You're not you, when you're hungry.

Math is hard enough as it is, we don't need the added barrier of hunger. Being hungry decreases focusing, retention, and honestly just puts people in a bad mood. That is not an environment that fosters learning.

Also, with some of the sweeter treats, I will use them as incentives so kids work harder and have bigger goals.
