My Project

My students all have severe disabilities and are developmentally delayed. Therefore they have very short attention spans and require food often. Also, since we are a Title I school, most of the food my students receive is from school. Their lunch period is later in the day since they are older grades so they need snack to get through our 4 consecutive block morning. We go through a lot of snack because sometimes they need it first thing in the morning, too! Snack time allows for independence and collaboration because it has become a student job to take orders, fill cups, and pass out snack while the rest of the class continues learning.
